Retrato de un Indio

The War for Gas, as it was coined, which took place in the South American country of Bolivia, forced the abdication of President Gonzalo Sánchez de Lozada in October 2003. With the urgent need to pacify the country following two interim presidencies, elections brought the result of 54% of votes in favor of the first indigenous President of Bolivia, villager / coca-grower union leader Evo Morales Ayma. Having drawn the attention of public opinion and of the international media, Evo Morales became the decided symbol of the struggle of indigenous peoples and a world-renowned figure. This is my testimony photographing the President of Bolivia, Evo Morales, from 2006 until 2014.
